U.S. Mail Chute

Highly detailed mail chute used in multi level type buildings on upper floors around the turn of the century. This would have been located in a common area. Mail was inserted in the chute and then would end up on a bottom floor piled in a large container where it was collected. As advertised on the front, Made by the Cutler Manufacturing. Co. Rochester N.Y. This is a great piece of history that's not often seen. Very heavy for size, made of bronze in excellent condition still retaining the original finish.
5 3/4" x 8 1/4" deep x
1 5/8" deep and weighs 4 pounds.
